| Bug in the "Upcoming Events" | |

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of updates lately, but honestly there hasn't been a lot of any real importance to update. Just felt I should let you all know there's apparently a bug with the Upcoming Events bar that's ignoring events in December. I'm looking into this but the calendar is up to date and correct, so feel free to view it if you are unsure about meeting dates and times. EDIT: Nevermind, found a workaround. Still an odd bug though. Discuss this announcement here. |

| Following Our First Meeting | |

I've sat back for a few days to take in everything that happened at our first meeting back before making this post, so pardon the delays. We're off to a great start, I will say that much. I can't reveal a lot of what's going on "behind the scenes" right now as a lot of it is waiting to be finalized, but just know that we've started a push in the right direction. I'm going to go ahead and bring up some things that I talked about briefly at the meeting. As it stands, our membership is fairly steady, but we're still looking for new members constantly in order to accomplish some of our longterm goals. That being said, I'm looking for our members to start the biggest membership drive we've ever had. As it stands, we're still at a point where we're too large to just be a "group of friends" but too small to undertake a lot of the sponsorships and affiliations that a lot of clubs do. That being said, I encourage anyone thinking about joining to do so, and any of our members to bring your friends. As we get larger, more opportunites open to allow our club to become even better. If you need promotional materials, let one of us know what you need (there are several fliers already available, I just do not have them hosted online as of yet, but they are available by e-mail). In other news, there is an expected downtime for the website on October 23, 2008. This is an allowance for our host to install new hardware, hopefully alleviating the problems that we have had in the past. Discuss this announcement here. |

Sorry for the lapse in updates, my brain was still on vacation. Well, we've returned from our second year at AWA and I think I speak for everyone when I say it was a blast. I should hopefully have some of the pictures and/or video from the trip ready for our meeting in October. That being said, all has not been completely quiet at Anime Kanarazu headquarters and we're all working hard to re-open our doors on October 11th. Pieces of our schedule are still not finalized if you look at the calendar, but rest assured that it is being taken care of. One thing I would like to announce is the introduction of the Kanarazu Dollars program. This is a participation incentive program for our members that allows you to have an account with us that can be used to purchase any anime related items (DVDs, Manga, AWA tickets, etc). There are various ways of getting these, but the most effective way is to recruit new members.* In order to jumpstart this, we're offering a DOUBLE OR NOTHING event at our first meeting where for each new paying member you bring in that day, you will receive TEN Kanarazu Dollars instead of the usual five.** This is a one time only offer, good for this meeting and no other, so bring as many people as you can and try to rack up the points! In other news, I apologize for the website downtime last night, as it was completely out of my control and (once again) our web host was at fault. I'm no more happier about it than anyone else, but unfortunately, there was nothing I personally could do about it. That being said, the move to another web host is still being discussed and I'll keep you posted on info about that. Anyway, that's all I have for now. If you were a member of the planning committees that have been in place for the past few months, please get in touch with me ASAP. * Kanarazu Dollars are only awarded after the person you referred has been an active paying member for three(3) consecutive months. ** Ten (10) Kanarazu Dollars will only be awarded if the person you refer becomes a paying member that day and waives their two free meetings. | Recent Website Downtime | |

After three calls to technical support over the last six hours, I was finally able to get things working again. I can't say for certain if the last guy fixed it or if it was just coincidence, however once it was fixed he began making comments that implied that the website downtime was due to a change I had supposedly made while I was asleep. Needless to say, I wasn't too happy with the implications, however I'm am glad that the website is back up and running. You may have to clear your cookies again if you're having login problems. This being said, the other council members and I will be discussing a possible site move sometime in the next month. I'll keep you posted on the details. Discuss this announcement here. |
